Sculptra® Treatment for Scars & Skin Rejuvenation
Sculptra is a collagen biostimulator made from poly-L-lactic acid. It is an advanced treatment designed for patients who want to improve acne scars, uneven skin texture, and age-related volume loss in a natural, long-term way. Rather than creating instant volume, it works by gradually rebuilding the skin’s collagen framework, strengthening the deeper layers of the skin and improving overall quality from within. This makes Sculptra an ideal choice for those seeking smoother, firmer skin and refined facial contours without abrupt changes or an overfilled appearance.

Why we recommend Sculptra
We understand how important a biostimulator is for building collagen, which is why we choose Sculptra. At the same time, it provides an anti-aging effect by replenishing lost volume—this dual benefit is exactly what makes it so special.
FDA-approved, non-allergenic, and minimally invasive, Sculptra offers noticeable, natural-looking results with little to no downtime—perfect for long-term skin rejuvenation.
How it works:
The biological response depends on the depth of injection, which is selected based on the patient’s individual goals and treatment plan.
Supraperiosteal (bone level):
- Supports collagen formation over bone, improving structural support and long-term tissue stability.
Subcutaneous fat:
- Stimulates collagen between fat compartments, helping restore firmness and improve tissue quality without adding artificial volume.
Deep dermis:
- Enhances dermal collagen. As a result, it reinforces the skin’s structure from within, restoring firmness and support over time.
FAQ
Sculptra builds collagen gradually, which helps lift and smooth indented scars in a subtle, natural way. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, it doesn’t simply “fill” the scar temporarily — it rebuilds structural support in the skin for long-lasting improvement.
Both treatments stimulate collagen, but they work differently. Sculptra uses poly-L-lactic acid, which boosts collagen gradually and is fully absorbed over time, so results are long-lasting but not permanent. Bellafill contains PMMA microspheres that stay in place as a long-term scaffold, creating longer-lasting collagen support. Sculptra is ideal for patients who want a gradual, flexible result, while Bellafill offers a longer-duration option.
They serve different purposes. Subcision releases deep, tethered scars, while Sculptra builds collagen to fill and smooth the treated area. Many patients benefit most from combining the two treatments for maximum improvement.
Rolling scars, boxcar scars, and broad atrophic depressions respond very well. It can also soften the edges of ice-pick scars when used in combination with other treatments.
You will see progressive changes rather than sudden ones. Most patients see visible improvement starting around 6 months as new collagen begins to build.
While individual results vary, improvements commonly last up to a year or longer. The collagen Sculptra stimulates is your own, so the skin maintains its texture improvement long-term.
Yes — these treatments can be combined, but not during the same appointment. Each procedure works differently, and spacing them out ensures safety and optimal results. Our specialists will create a personalized treatment plan and determine the ideal sequence and timing to maximize collagen stimulation and improve scars effectively.
Absolutely. By increasing collagen in the deeper layers of the skin, Sculptra improves thickness, firmness, smoothness, and overall skin resilience. Many patients notice healthier-looking skin even in untreated areas.
Yes. Sculptra has been FDA-approved for many years and has an excellent safety profile. Since it is non-allergenic and naturally absorbed, it offers long-term rejuvenation without leaving permanent material behind.
It’s not recommended for patients who want instant results or those with autoimmune conditions, active skin infections, or a history of keloids. It’s also not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding individuals.
